Shotgun bar. Always a staple of any Tuscaloosan's alcohol diet, Egan's hosts the best happy-hour in town. Sporting a diverse crowd, with the notable absence of fraternity/sorority groups, Egan's hosts eclectic mixtures of bands and patrons. Walk in and, without preamble, meet a physicist, and history ph.d., a kindergarten teacher, and a house painter... all of whom are enjoying a conversation about something you've never heard of. Walk in after 10 and you might be bombarded with live-heavy-metal or original americana... and sometimes even a dj. The bathrooms are singles and usually clean, especially the women's. Become a regular and you might be able to run a tab, which you must pay on Wednesdays. Has a single pool table that gets covered up on band nights. Two craque machines. Three dart boards that are very very very frequently used. Duck.
